This week we are talking with Derek Hoot about discovering a passion for wheelchair basketball!

Derek started competing in wheelchair basketball in middle school, became a collegiate athlete, played overseas in Germany and is now a coach, a podcaster, and a huge fan of the sport. Through the years he has found good times, purpose and community through wheelchair basketball and is dedicated to spreading the word about this life changing sport!

In this episode we hear all about his journey, talk about the importance of competition and chat about leadership and the challenges of being a coach!

I hope you all enjoy the show as much as I did!!

(Correction notes from Derek: Rose Hollerman is a gold and bronze medalist, and Trevon Jenifer is a three-time Paralympian (two gold, one bronze)
